Embark on an unforgettable journey through one of Denmark's most enchanting regions: North Zealand.
Our scenic tour begins in Copenhagen, tracing the picturesque Oresund coast. Along the way, be captivated
by the sight of grand mansions, quaint fishermen's villages, and ancient beech forests.
As we wind along the coastal road, the tapestry of Denmark's history unfolds, revealing intriguing tales of
our hunting kings and centuries-old dynamics with Sweden – our enduring archenemy! Our first destination
is the iconic Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover why Shakespeare chose this majestic
fortress as the backdrop for Hamlet and witness how this renowned play continues to resonate within the
walls of Kronborg Castle today.
Our journey then takes us to the elegant Fredensborg Castle, a cherished royal residence nestled in the
idyllic North Zealand countryside. Marvel at the Royal Guards and learn why this palace holds a special
place in our Queen's heart.
In the charming town of Hillerød, we pause for a traditional Danish lunch featuring smørrebrød and a
delightful coffee break. Following this, we delve into the captivating Frederiksborg Castle. Constructed in
the early 17th century by the legendary Danish King Christian the 4th, this Renaissance masterpiece
showcases the finest craftsmanship and architecture of its time. Inside the castle, artifacts spanning 500
years of Danish history unfold, accompanied by passionate love stories within the royal family. Before our
return to Copenhagen, we relish the serene beauty of the exquisite baroque garden, adding the perfect
finishing touch to our North Zealand adventure.
